Free eMail Newsletter and RSS Feed

We'll keep you updated, without SPAM!

Our newsletter is simply a way to keep you informed of the latest additions to MommyRecommends.com.

The subscription box is in the upper-lefthand corner of every page of this website (including this one).

After you subscribe you'll receive a generic email that asks you to confirm your subscription by clicking on an easy link included in the email, or by pasting it into your browser address bar.

You MUST confirm your subscription the above way if you want to start receiving your news from us.

If you don't confirm, we don't send you any news!

This is necessary to keep people from abusing our newsletter and signing other people up without their permission. We hate SPAM, and we know you do too!

For Mommies who use RSS

For Mommies who prefer to use an RSS feed reader, we provide several options for adding our RSS feed to your feedreader.

If you don't know what RSS is, that's OK. You can ignore it's existence, or you may want to learn a little more, and dabble with it by subscribing to a few RSS feeds.

RSS Readers are free. Some are simple. Some are complex. And most are in between simple and complex.

RSS feeds are simply something that a feed reader can be easily configured to pull in. Someone publishes (like me) for free and someone reads (like you).

RSS feeds are for folks who prefer to not use their email accounts to get their news, but there's that slight learning curve before you see the payoff.

I encourage you to play around with a free feed reader (if your browser doesn't already have one installed, you can download a free one), and our RSS feed.

If you want to updates available to your RSS reader/utility when MommyRecommends.com publishes new information, articles, or content then you'll want to add our RSS Feed to your list.

Why RSS?

Don't feel bad if it's somewhat confusing. MOST people (even experienced people) using the internet have no idea what RSS is (yet), and we want to help as many newbies use RSS now, so that it's second nature later.

RSS is to information on the web, as channels are to a shows on TV.

You just put the RSS information (xml) into your reader, then when you're running your reader, our latest updates are available in your reader.

HOW to use RSS Easily...

I'm an experienced web user, however, I still fumble around with RSS.

Here are three separate ways I've done it in the past (pick one that works best for you):

1) I've created a MyYahoo.com account, and then going to the website that offers the feed (in your case that's MommyRecommends.com.com) added a feed to Yahoo by clicking "Add to My Yahoo" button on the publisher site: and then a Yahoo webpage opens and you click on the "Add to My Yahoo!" button. (Sometimes I've had to 'remove' and the 're-add'.) Flaky. But don't get frustrated.

2) Login to your Yahoo! account and click on the MyYahoo! link. Then Click "Add Content". On the next page, to the right of the "Find" there's a tiny link that says "Add RSS by URL" that will take you to the page where you paste in our rss.xml URL (http://www.MommyRecommends.com/rss.xml) and then click 'Add' button. Then next screen then shows you an "Add to MyYahoo" button that you must click. Voila! Now you've added the feed to your MyYahoo! list. 2) I've clicked on the button/image that reads "XML" or "RSS" and then paste the URL (ending in .xml) into my RSS Feedreader.

Not terribly scientific, but it worked for me.

Our RSS Feed URL is: http://mommyrecommends.blogspot.com/atom.xml

3) Here are buttons with the feed built-in:
