Saving Money with Money Saving Tips for Tightwads

It's one thing to make money, but it's another thing to know how to hold onto as much of it as possible.

Have you ever known someone who, no matter how much they made, always seemed to not have enough money to meet their needs?

The keys is that people confuse WANTS with NEEDS. Folks have been lulled into thinking that if they want something, then they are entitled to it (especially since credit cards and home equity loans are so easy to come by).

Is it easier to spend, or to keep your desires in check?

Just like people admire fantastic musicians or skilled athletes, who have developed their skills though discipline, frugality is a discipline that is as satisfying as running a marathon after months of training, or being asked to join a band because you're known for your musical instrument skills.

The biggest obstacle to learning how to keep more of your money is to get into the mindset that tightwads aren't hermits that don't have fun. Tightwads know logically when to make a purchase, rather than relying on emotion to help them make the decision.

Give the poor folks the same opportunity, and they generally don't see the value.

(Don't confuse poor with broke. Poor people seem to find ways to keep themselves broke. Rich people are occasionally broke, but find ways (providing value to others), to keep themselves from becoming poor.
